History: The Steperettes program has existed in Naperville for nearly 50 years, the last 31 of which have been under the direction of Vicki Mogil. Whether a national championship level baton twirling corps, a WGI-competitive Independent A guard or the eighth grade and under Cadet level guard we have been exclusively for the last nine years, our program goal has been to enhance the equipment handling, movement and life skills of our members while having a whole lot of fun.

Past Achievements: Most recently, the Steperette Cadets have been the Midwest Color Guard Circuit B/Cadet Class champion for eight of the past eleven years. The Steperettes A Guard was a WGI semi-finalist in 1998, and the Steperettes Twirling Corps was a perennial NBTA national champion in the 1980s.

For the past several years, the Naperville Park District "Fun With Flags!" classes have introduced children to the activity and have been very enjoyable for all. The Steperette Cadets program is intended to be of a more rigorous, but nonetheless age-appropriate, level for its members. Former members of our guard particpate in the District 203 and 204 guards, and we are proud of the progress of those units as well. Sixteen alumni appear this year in the Midwest Color Guard Circuit Scholastic A class, and four more were members of their fall bands.

The Steperette Cadets are a program of the Naperville Park District and are supported by the dedicated Steperettes Guard and Parent Organization.
